SSC exam 2014: 11 cheating cases in Maharashtra

On the second day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC ) exam in Maharashtra, the state board flying squads came across 11 misconduct cases, as per newspaper reports.

The disciplinary squad of the Maharashtra State Board Secondary and Higher Secondary Board (MSBSHSE) caught 11 students cheating in the second language paper - Hindi in Jalgaon district. A total of 1,46,000 students appeared for the said exam.

The SSC exam commences on March 3 with Marathi as the first exam. The flying/ disciplinary squad had caught five malpractice cases during the exam. This year 2,02,570 students are appearing for the SSC exam in Maharashtra.

On the other hand, it was reported that after initial troubles regarding missing and error-ridden hall tickets were overcome, two SSC students from the Mumbai division had to go for the first day of the exam without hall tickets. They were, however, accommodated in centers close to them.

Board exams bid adieu

The board examinations which ended on Monday proved to be a cakewalk for students as they found the papers easy. On Monday, the examinees were beaming in both relief and joy.

In all, 9.75 lakh students took the SSC exam, while 5.08 lakh students appeared for the HSC general stream exam and 1.17 lakh for the HSC science stream exam.

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) officials said that the SSC exams were held at 780 centres, while the general stream exams in 367, and science stream in 110.

Students said that papers were easy though marred by a few errors. Class X students, who appeared for the Sanskrit exam on Monday, felt that the paper tested their logical thinking and was easy and scoring. Ahana Banker, a class X student said, "By setting an easy paper, the board ensured that we bid farewell to exams with a smile. My last exam was easy and I am confident of scoring up to 95 marks," she said. "Since the board exams are over, I plan to have fun with friends and we are also planning a weekend trip to Mount Abu."..

Andhra Pradesh Board postpones SSC / Class 10th exam 2014

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Andhra Pradesh has postponed the four subject papers of SSC / Class 10th board examinations. BSE has released the revised dates for the postponed exam dates. The SSC / class 10th had already commenced from 27th March 2014.

According to the BSE website, due to some uncertain reason, some of the subjects need to be postponed. The SSC / class 10th exam paper Social Studies Paper - I which was scheduled to be held on 10th April 2014 has been postponed to 12th April 2014 between 11 AM and 1.30 PM. The SSC / class 10th exam paper Social Studies Paper - II which was scheduled to be held on 11th April 2014 has been postponed to 15th April 2014 between 9.30 AM and 12 Noon.

The SSC / class 10th exam paper OSSC Main Language Paper II which was scheduled to be held on 12th April 2014 has been postponed to 16th April 2014 between 9.30 AM and 12 Noon. The SSC / class 10th exam paper SSC Vocational Course (Theory) which was scheduled to be held on 15th April 2014 has been postponed to 17th April 2014 between 9.30 AM and 12 Noon...

SSC releases marks list of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Exam

The results were declared on the Commission’s official website on 14th March 2014.

The exams were conducted on the following dates: 20th October 2013, 27th October 2013 and 10th November 2013 at various centers all over the country.

Students can check their marks by visiting the following link: http://ssc.nic.in/press-release/zero_chsl.pdf

It would be surprising to find Zero marks awarded as total marks obtained in the released list. According to the SSC, the candidates who had not appended their signatures or Left Hand Thumb Impression on their answer script or have wrongly written their Roll Numbers and Ticket Numbers on their answer scripts have been awarded ‘Zero’ marks.

'Do we have to give the paper again?' SSC students ask helpline

After the story of paper leak was reported in several newspapers and television channels on Wednesday, many Secondary School Certificate (SSC) students have called the board helpline to check if the Mathematics paper-I Algebra will be rescheduled.


The board counselors have received around 70 calls after students heard that the paper was leaked in YB Chavan School in Kandivli on Tuesday.


From the time my shift started at 2 pm till 7 pm, I attended at least 70 calls from SSC students asking if the Algebra exam will be rescheduled. An enquiry will be conducted by board members. We are informing the students that until then, we cannot say if the exam will be rescheduled or not.

‘Teachers call for help too’

The board helpline receives calls not only from students but also from teachers checking the board papers. Counselors have received about 20 calls from teachers, examiners and moderators for different queries on paper correction. Some call to know when they will be receiving the answer sheets; others call to ask the moderator’s address where they can send the corrected copies. Moderators call as well to check the schedule of their meeting with the board office.
